Pilgrims zine editions one and two, 2023 and 2024.

I’d always wanted to do a zine I could put in a wage envelope. I was originally going to have some text to go with the images but I ended up making a wordless zine. The idea was that the animals were bringing votive offerings, I toyed with the idea of showing the shrine where they were headed, covered in trash trinkets but instead opted to make it more open ended, about the journey rather than the destination.

The covers are printed using soft carve Lino blocks. Whilst I love the two colour design of the first edition the registration was a bit of a headache so opted for a straightforward one colour print for the second edition.

The first edition sold out at the Auckland Zinefest 2023, I submitted the second edition in 2024 and it won an award for Best Visual Art Zine.
