I was delighted to be asked to contribute some portraits to Go Girl: A Storybook of Epic NZ Women by Barbara Else. I hoped to portray some of the strength, determination and character of each woman in their portrait. Most of the portraits were done in gouache with a few minimal digital touch ups except for the Kate Sheppard which was scanned pencil sketches coloured and assembled on the computer.
